Welcome to the Chicago Coalition for Microbicides!
In an effort to increase community education and advocacy on microbicides, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, a partner of Global Campaign for Microbicides, convened the Chicago Coalition for Microbicides (CCM).
Find out the latest about the Chicago Coalition's activities by visiting their homepage: http://www.aidschicago.org/prevention/microbicides.php
CCM is a collaboration of diverse citywide organizations mobilizing for the advancement of microbicide research, development, and availability. Through the coalition, advocates for HIV prevention, reproductive health, women’s and girls’ empowerment, gay men’s health, and violence prevention integrate microbicide education and organizing into their existing work.
Partner organizations include African American Women Evolving, Battered Women’s Network, Chicago Abused Women’s Coalition, Chicago Foundation for Women, Chicago Women’s AIDS Project, Global Girls, Inc., Mujeres Latinas en Accion, and Planned Parenthood Chicago Area.
CCM Speakers Bureau members are available to provide educational presentations for groups and organizations. Contact the coalition's coordinator Jessica Terlikowski to schedule a speaker and learn more about microbicides, their development, and why advocacy is needed now to make sure these important HIV prevention tools become available to women and men worldwide.
